Our Content Guidelines
At Life Balance Chiropractic, we want our website to provide clear, useful and trustworthy health information.
This editorial policy explains how we choose topics, write our content, check clinical information and keep our pages accurate and up to date.
Our goal is to help you better understand your body, your symptoms and your care options without using unnecessary jargon, exaggerated claims or confusing language.
Our Commitment to Clear and Reliable Content
Health information can feel complicated. Our job is to make it easier to understand without losing important context.
We create content around the questions people regularly ask in our Poole clinic. This includes questions about pain, movement, posture, chiropractic care, stress, recovery and nervous system function.
Our aim is to explain these subjects in a way that is practical, balanced and relevant to everyday life.
We want every page to help you understand what may be happening, what you can do next and when an individual assessment or advice from another healthcare professional may be appropriate.
Our Editorial Standards
Accurate
We check health and chiropractic information carefully before it is published. All content containing information about symptoms, health conditions, diagnosis, treatment, chiropractic care, clinical outcomes or suitability for care is reviewed by a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council before publication.
All content containing information about symptoms, health conditions, diagnosis, treatment, chiropractic care, clinical outcomes or suitability for care is reviewed by a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council before publication.
Clear
We use plain UK English and explain unfamiliar terms. Our content should help you understand a subject without making it feel more complicated than it needs to be.
Transparent
Our articles show who wrote them and who clinically reviewed them where a separate review has taken place. Author and reviewer names link to profiles explaining their roles and experience.
Clinical authors and reviewers are identified by their professional roles, qualifications and General Chiropractic Council registration details.
Useful
We write to answer genuine patient questions, not simply to fill the website. Each article should leave you with a clearer understanding of the subject and a sensible next step.
Current
We review content when new evidence, professional guidance or changes to our services make an update necessary. Articles display their publication and latest review dates.
Our clinical content is formally reviewed at least every 24 months, or sooner when important evidence, professional guidance, regulation or our services change.
Editorial and Clinical Responsibility
Joshua Smith, Doctor of Chiropractic and co-founder of Life Balance Chiropractic, oversees the clinical accuracy of our health and chiropractic content.
Maya Smith, Marketing Coordinator, oversees content planning, editorial quality, readability and the ongoing content-review process.
Clinical reviewers are responsible for checking the subjects within their professional knowledge and experience. Final responsibility for the information published on this website remains with Life Balance Chiropractic.
How We Create Our Content
1. Choose a Relevant Subject
We begin with a real question, symptom or subject that is relevant to the people we support. Topics are informed by questions people ask in our Poole clinic, developments in healthcare and the information patients need before, during and after care.
2. Research
Our team researches the topic using suitable sources. These may include:
- peer-reviewed research;
- recognised clinical guidance;
- professional regulators;
- public health organisations;
- respected healthcare and academic organisations; and
- relevant primary sources.
We use recognised external sources to check factual and clinical claims. The experience of our chiropractic team helps us identify relevant questions, explain information clearly and add practical context, but professional experience does not replace appropriate evidence.
3. Write
The article is written by a named member of the Life Balance Chiropractic team.
Our writers include chiropractors and non-clinical team members with direct knowledge of the clinic, our services and the questions patients ask. When a non-clinical team member writes about a health condition, symptom or treatment, the clinical information is reviewed by a registered chiropractor before publication.
4. Clinical Review
All articles containing clinical or treatment information are reviewed by a chiropractor registered with the General Chiropractic Council before publication.
The reviewer checks that:
- the clinical explanation is accurate;
- important claims are properly supported;
- the wording reflects the available evidence;
- important context has not been missed;
- individual differences are recognised;
- the content avoids exaggerated promises; and
- the suggested next step is practical and appropriate.
Clinical review does not mean that every article is written by a chiropractor. It means that relevant health and treatment information has been checked by an appropriately qualified professional before it is published.
5. Editorial Check
The page is checked for spelling, readability, structure and useful links. We also make sure the title and headings clearly explain what the page is about. We check that the information answers the reader’s main question, avoids unnecessary repetition and provides a helpful next step. We also check author details, review information, references and links before publication.
6. Publish and Update
The article is published with its author, reviewer where applicable, publication date and latest review date.
Clinical articles display:
- the name of the author;
- the name of the clinical reviewer;
- the original publication date; and
- the date on which the content was last reviewed or meaningfully updated.
We continue to monitor published content and update it when important information changes.

Clinical Review
Our clinical review process helps ensure that health and treatment information is clear, accurate and appropriate for a general audience.
The reviewer considers whether:
the clinical explanation is accurate;
important claims are properly supported;
the wording reflects the available evidence;
individual differences are made clear;
the content avoids exaggerated promises; and
the suggested next step is practical and appropriate.
Clinical review does not replace an individual consultation or assessment. It confirms that the article is suitable as general educational information.
A clinical review is not an endorsement of one treatment for every person. The reviewer checks that the information recognises individual circumstances and does not make assumptions about what care a reader needs.
The Sources We Use
Our sources may include:
peer-reviewed research;
recognised clinical guidance;
professional regulators;
public health organisations;
respected healthcare and academic organisations; and
relevant primary sources.
We consider the quality, relevance and date of a source rather than relying on one study in isolation.
Where evidence is limited, mixed or still developing, we aim to make that clear. References are included when they help support an important claim or allow readers to explore the subject further.
References are provided for material clinical claims, statistics, treatment claims and subjects where readers would benefit from checking the original source.
Where possible, we give priority to:
- current clinical guidance and systematic reviews;
- government, public-health and professional-regulator sources;
- peer-reviewed primary research; and
- reputable healthcare and academic organisations.
We do not present the findings of one study as settled evidence when the wider body of research remains uncertain or conflicting.
How We Check Chiropractic Treatment Claims
Life Balance Chiropractic is a UK healthcare clinic, and our website and marketing must meet the professional and advertising standards that apply to chiropractors in the UK.
Claims about what chiropractic care can treat, improve or help are checked against relevant evidence, current Advertising Standards Authority and Committee of Advertising Practice guidance, and the professional standards applying to chiropractors registered in the UK.
We distinguish between:
- explaining a symptom or health subject;
- describing our approach to assessment and care;
- sharing an individual patient’s experience; and
- making a clinical claim about what chiropractic care can treat or improve.
Patient experiences and testimonials are genuine, but one person’s experience does not guarantee that another person will achieve the same result. Testimonials are not used as a substitute for appropriate evidence.
How We Talk About Chiropractic
At Life Balance Chiropractic, we see pain as a signal — not always the whole problem
Pain and recurring symptoms can be influenced by several factors, including movement, physical strain, previous injuries, lifestyle stress, sleep and recovery.
The nervous system also plays an important role in how the body responds to stress, processes information and coordinates movement and recovery.
Our content helps explain these connections while recognising that every person is different. We do not promise guaranteed outcomes or assume that everyone with the same symptom needs the same care.
Online information can help you understand a subject. An individual assessment is needed to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and whether chiropractic care is suitable for you.
Keeping Our Content Up to Date
Health information changes over time. We review and update pages when:
- important new evidence or guidance becomes available;
- a member of our clinical team identifies something that needs correcting or clarifying;
- our services or clinic processes change;
- a reader reports a possible error;
- relevant advertising or professional guidance changes;
- a linked source is withdrawn or materially updated; or
- an article reaches its planned review point.
Clinical content is formally reviewed at least every 24 months. Content may be reviewed sooner when the subject is more likely to change or when an important update is identified.
Meaningful updates are reflected in the article’s latest review date. We do not change dates simply to make older content appear new.
Small spelling, formatting or link corrections may not change the clinical review date. The review date is updated when the information has been meaningfully checked or changed.
Use of Digital and AI-Assisted Tools
Digital tools, including AI-assisted tools, may be used to support content planning, research organisation, transcription, editing, spelling and readability.
These tools do not replace clinical judgement, appropriate evidence or professional review. Health claims and clinical information are checked by a registered chiropractor before publication.
We do not publish unverified AI-generated health information. A named member of the Life Balance Chiropractic team remains responsible for writing, checking or approving every page.
Commercial Transparency
Life Balance Chiropractic is a private healthcare clinic. Some pages explain services we provide and may invite readers to arrange an assessment or book an appointment.
The commercial purpose of our website does not change our standards for clinical accuracy, evidence or transparency. We do not believe that responsible marketing and useful patient education should be separated: our aim is to teach first and invite second.
If content includes a commercial partnership, sponsorship, affiliate relationship or another potential conflict of interest, this will be clearly disclosed.
Corrections and Feedback
We welcome feedback about our content.
If you believe something is inaccurate, unclear or out of date, email frontdesk@lifebalancechiropractic.co.uk. Please include a link to the page and briefly explain what you would like us to review.
Potential clinical inaccuracies are referred to a registered chiropractor for review. Where a material error is confirmed, we correct it as promptly as reasonably possible and update the page’s review information where appropriate.
